“Praying for Apostolic Unity” wrote Becky Powell. 1 5/5 (1)

We were privileged recently to host Missionary friends Mike and Lisa Long (Zimbabwe, Botswana) in our home. Oh, the joy of “iron sharpening iron”! I was sharing my desire to see unity and revival in our district and related how our WNOP sectional leaders are all focused in praying thus. Sister Long spoke up and said “we all need to pray for apostolic unity!” I was reminded of how unified and “with one accord” the apostles were on the day of Pentecost and immediately following. There are at least six times “with one accord” is mentioned in the Book of Acts. Let us pray for apostolic unity.

Pray :
in supplication, Acts 1:14, “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication”, supplication is the action of asking or begging for something earnestly or humbly. The first step is attitude of the heart, a humbled spirit.

in expectation, Acts 2:1, “They were all with one accord in one place” One of the meanings of the word ‘with’ is going in the same direction (like a school of fish). We should all have a strong belief that something (revival) is going to happen in the near future.

in continuation, Acts 2:46, “And they, continuing daily with one accord… “Continuing is simply – keep on keeping on! Don’t stop, continue to pray.
in exultation, Acts 4:26, “They lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said Lord, thou art God”, The apostles were, as we should be, unified in worship, in singing and in praise to God.

in association, Acts 5:12, “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch) “They were a group of people unified for a single purpose, there were no divisions among them.

in purpose, Acts 15:25, “It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men…” The apostles were unified in their goals and resolute in their desires. They chose to send out men that were “with one accord” also! We should pray that those going forth to reach the harvest have purposed in their heart to be apostolic, to believe the infallible Word of God and will continue walking that path!
Blessings to All,
